As the CEO and Founder of The Annex Group, LLC, a developer of affordable, workforce, student and market rate housing, Kyle believes in and lives the mission of the organization. Creating a positive impact with the people who live, work and are involved in our communities is the foundation of The Annex Group and resonates with Kyle and his personal story. With a people first culture, the team knows the importance of fostering a positive environment for the residents and going the extra mile to ensure the people who live in their communities are valued, acknowledged, and listened to.

Surpassing the standard is the heart of Impact Housing Indiana Corp. “When we created Annex Management and began to interact daily within our communities’, we realized the need for additional resources and support for our residents. Our on-site teams do an amazing job creating a positive impact and caring for our residents; however, we wanted to do more,” said Kyle. Impact Housing was founded in 2023 with the purpose of enriching lives. According to Kyle, it is the “relentless pursuit of enriching lives”.

Impact Housing will provide nutrition programs, financial wellness support, and various initiatives that will evolve based on resident needs and community involvement. According to Kyle, “We want to support our residents to thrive in their life, even beyond their time living with us. If we can be the catalyst that helps a resident achieve their dreams, we have succeeded.” -

Furthermore, to provide input and assistance in realizing the overall vision that has been established. Being that the start-up organization is focused on enriching the lives of tenants of properties and further developing the management team of the properties was also of interest and a plus.

What leadership do you bring to Impact Housing Indiana?
The leadership I bring to the table stems from 27 years of previous employment at a non-profit trade association in roles of a Director, and as a President. Although this leadership experience was in a very different industry, there are many similarities in the operations and management of IHI. In addition, the leadership roles provided experience in visioning; developing mission statements, goals and objectives; strategic planning; and implementation of strategic plans.

How do envision the future success of Impact Housing Indiana?
In the future, through its services and products, IHI will achieve success in continually developing several success stories about enriching lives, growing its reach and breadth of impact, becoming self-sustaining, and thereby realizing its vision.

Steve holds both a B.S. and M.S. degree in Metallurgical Engineering & Materials Science from the University of Notre Dame. -

When the opportunity came to join the Board for Impact Housing Indiana and I heard the mission and vision of the sponsor, it became clear that IHI was a vehicle that could truly do good. It was evident that great thought had been put into the mission and the potential to help others just spoke to my heart. I have been blessed in my life and IHI is a way for me to help make a difference and maybe bless someone else.

What leadership do you bring to Impact Housing Indiana?
Professionally, I am an attorney by training and started practicing real estate law early in my career. Eventually I landed in-house as general counsel with a development company and ultimately ended up running the development arm. I am currently an executive with a real estate company focused on the development, construction and management of affordable housing. I feel like the best leadership quality that I am bringing to IHI is my desire to truly make an impact in any manner possible.

How do envision the future success of Impact Housing Indiana?
Success will be measured through the execution of its mission, to enrich lives. This will be achieved by researching the needs of the residents in each property IHI is engaged to support and creating partnerships and engaging with community groups to create programs tailored to the specific needs of the residents. Finally, IHI will closely communicate with the residents to ensure that indeed IHI is fulfilling its mission. -

The list of ideas that were presented to me showed me that this organization would be one based on caring for other people. I have a duty to show empathy for my fellow human beings. As a board member for Impact Housing Indiana, I can share my ability and desire to support and encourage others.

What leadership do you bring to Impact Housing Indiana?
I have a master’s degree in nonprofit administration from the University of Notre Dame in which servant leadership is a pillar of the program. My servant heart is what drove me to further my education in this field. I lead with compassion and an open mind which allows people to freely share ideas with me. I had many opportunities during my career with Notre Dame to serve in leadership capacities for our students and staff. Serving in a leadership capacity at a faith-based institution whose mission is to be a force for good in the world really taught me helpful lessons on how best to bring good into the world for many populations and lead with a servant heart and compassion. I strive to empathize with others and seize opportunities to positively impact lives. Serving this organization's mission is truly a gift to me. I served on the board for the Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana Michiana for a number of years and enjoyed being able to make a positive difference in the lives of girls in their formative years. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve a greater number of people as a board member of Impact Housing Indiana.

How do envision the future success of Impact Housing Indiana?
I envision the future of Impact Housing Indiana having empirical data that shows improvements in community involvement, healthier food choices, more physical activities, and financial stability. I see a higher satisfaction level among residents and their families. I also hope to see success through the stories we are able to tell of those whose lives we were able to touch. -
